Altair HyperLife 2023 Release Notes

New Features

Output Hotspot Sets
This feature enables you to output hotspot sets to a text file that you can import into HyperLife and HyperView. There are new user input options on the Evaluate tool under Advance Options > Output > Hotspots. You can input the number of hotspots, the threshold ratio, and the damage limit.
Range Envelope as a Configuration on a Load Map to Create a Stress Range
The Range Envelope option has been added to the Load Map tool as an addition to the Superposition and Sequential configurations. Use this new feature to create a stress range from selected loadcases while accounting for maximum and minimum stress points within the considered envelope of loadcases. This feature is useful when there is no external load history input available and you intend to create a stress range from the available stress levels in the loadcases.
Ribbon Hints
Ribbon hints have been added to help identify tools that have multiple pick targets or open a secondary ribbon. They are small indicators that appear in the ribbon between a tool’s icon and label. The number of dots represents the number of pick targets in a tool, including some that are hidden until hovering over the tool.

To control this option, go to File > Preferences > Common > Application > Show ribbon hints.

Enhancements

  • During Evaluate > Run, if a user-defined material is not found in the assigned user-defined material file (.csv/.xml), the run errors out with a warning added to the log file. Additionally, a Status Bar message is displayed upon importing the run setup XML if the material is not present in the location specified.

Resolved Issues

  • For nodal evaluation, the result files with GPSTRESS (by PROP) output is supported.
  • The event wise results showing zero damage for Random Fatigue with PSD results.
  • Issue with Scaled life values input not displaying in the HyperLife GUI upon importing an XML file.
  • User warnings are added when clicking Run/Export to prompt you if the Yield strength is not greater than zero when SODERBERG mean stress correction is present.
  • Issue with range based SN curves and Spot Weld fatigue.
