The HyperMold™ user profile supports interfaces for injection molding solvers AutoDesk® Moldflow® Insight, Moldex3D Solid, Moldex3D Shell and HyperMold-RTM. In this document, AutoDesk® Moldflow® Insight is referred to as Moldflow for convenience.
Moldflow is used for analysis and design of injection molding and related manufacturing processes. The Moldflow sub-profile enables you to create data in its native data formats using the Moldflow interface Utility menu. This interface can write out two different Moldflow data deck formats: MFL (v2.0) and ASCII UDM (for releases after v4.0). The MFL format is made of six (or more) different ASCII files with the extensions, ELA, NDA, ATA, AIN, PRJ, and MFL. This format was available in MPI 2.0. The UDM format is a single ASCII file and is supported in MPI 4.0 and later releases.
Moldex3D is a CAE product for the plastics injection molding industry. There are two sub-profiles supporting Moldex3D - Moldex3D Solid and Moldex3D Shell.
• | Moldex3D Solid enables you to create solid meshes using the Moldex3D Wizard and the Utility menu. This interface can write out completed decks in the native MFE format. |
• | Moldex3D Shell enables you to create surface meshes and write out decks in the native MSH format using the Utility menu. |
HyperMold-RTM is used for analysis and design of resin transfer injection molding. The RTM user profile enables you to create data decks for analysis in RTM solver.
