Assign Metadata

Assign metadata values to selected entities. Once assigned, metadata can be used in advanced selection.

Restriction: Metadata cannot be assigned to parts.
  1. Assign metadata in the following ways:
    • Make a selection in the modeling window then right-click and select Assign Metadata.
      Note: Make sure the application is in idle mode. You can't assign metadata if a tool is active on the ribbon.
    • Right-click on a body or a part in the Part Browser and select Assign Metadata.

      When selecting a part, metadata is assigned to the part's associated bodies rather than the part itself.

  2. Enter a metadata key and value in the dialog.
  3. Click Create.
