File Creation

This file is created when the OPTI format is selected in the CONTF I/O Options Entry, in an Explicit Dynamic Analysis (ANALYSIS=NLEXPL).

Result: Description
Contact forces: Contact force results from explicit dynamic analysis (with contact). This file is created when format = OPTI is specified in the CONTF I/O Option.

The _expl.cntf file has the following format.

Data: Description
CONTACT #: Contact Interface identification number (CTID on the CONTACT Bulk Data Entry).
FORCE-X: Component of the total contact force along the X-axis of the Basic system.
FORCE-Y: Component of the total contact force along the Y-axis of the Basic system.
FORCE-Z: Component of the total contact force along the Z-axis of the Basic system.
MAGNITUDE: Magnitude of the total contact force acting on the main surface.
AREA: Area of main surface under contact.
Normal Force: Resultant force along the normal direction to the main surface.
Tangent Force: Resultant force along the tangential direction to the main surface.

The output frequency of the results in this file can be controlled by the value of NINT field in the NLOUT entry.
