Comments
- Stress and strain tensor are output in the elemental coordinate system.
- The STRESS output for Keyword6=N, UPPER or LOWER must have N>0 defined in the shell property. When using global integration (N=0 in the shell property), Radioss will output the stress at the midplane, even if the stress at UPPER/LOWER is requested.
- The stress at UPPER/LOWER is the stress at the upper most/lower most integration point and not an interpolated value based on curvature, like the strain.
- Strain tensor is output only if Istrain =1 in shell property for material laws < /MAT/LAW25 (COMPSH); except laws /MAT/LAW15 (CHANG) and /MAT/LAW19 (FABRI). For all other material laws, the value of Istrain does not matter.
- STRAIN output is
extrapolated to the outer surfaces.
Keyword6=UPPER uses the formula
and
Keyword6=LOWER uses the formula
. Where,
- Strain at the outer most integration point
- Thickness
- Curvature
For EPSDOT, strain and curvature are replaced by strain rate and curvature rate.
- Options /ANIM/SHELL/TENS/STRESS/MEMB and /ANIM/SHELL/TENS/STRESS/BEND are generalized stresses (mean values through thickness) per element.
- For fully-integrated elements, the mean value of 4 Gauss points of the shell surface is calculated. Shell stress can be considered at the center of the element.
- For
/PROP/TYPE51 or /PCOMPP composite
properties, if Keyword6 is not defined.
If Keyword5=ALL, the result is output for all layers and the value per layer is the average value of the through thickness integration points in the layer.
If Keyword5=LOWER, the result is the value of the first integration point of the first layer.
If Keyword5=UPPER, the result is the value of the last integration point of the last layer.
- Keyword6
limitations:
It can only be used with /PROP/TYPE51 or /PCOMPP composite properties and only if Keyword5=N, the layer number. However, Keyword5=ALL can be combined with Keyword6=ALL to output all layers and all integration points. If Keyword6=ALL, results for 10 integration points will be output, even if less integration points were defined in each layer and thus some results will be zero.
