Altair HyperLife 2023.1 Release Notes
Highlights
- Key enhancements to spot weld fatigue analysis.
New Features
- Support of transient loading for spot weld fatigue
- Spot weld fatigue with 1D elements is extended to transient loading. The feature supports both .h3d and .op2 result formats as input.
- Contouring sheet damage in spot weld fatigue
- When
SPTFAIL = ALL
in material assignment, life and damage results of both sheets and nugget will be reported separately. - Default Stress Life curve for spot weld fatigue
- HyperLife supports the default amplitude-based SN curve for spot weld fatigue at stress ratio equal to 0.0.
- Rainflow and Damage Matrix for sheets and nugget in spot weld fatigue
- HyperLife supports display and export of Rainflow matrix for sheets and nuggets separately.
Enhancements
-
- Rainflow output (RFOUT) of spot weld fatigue to report corrected stress amplitude
- Rainflow file from spot weld fatigue analysis will also output corrected stress amplitude along with stress amplitude, mean stress and damage for every cycle.
- Contour of life/damage will be specific to the SPTFAIL selection in spot weld fatigue.
Known Issues
The following known issues will be addressed in a future release as we continuously
improve performance of the software:
- Inconsistency in reporting damage/rainflow matrix for Brown-Miller damage model in Strain-Life multiaxial analysis.
Resolved Issues
- The issue concerning sheet damage with spot weld fatigue modeled with hexahedron (hexa) elements is resolved.
- Wrong warning shown when beam elements from OP2 results are used for spot weld fatigue is resolved.
- The issue pertaining to zero results on using Brown-Miller damage model in Strain-Life multiaxial analysis is resolved.
- User warning reported when sheet thickness or nugget diameter is set to zero in spot weld fatigue.
