Unable to Extract Desired Fluid Volume

Condition

Certain solid geometry features can sometimes prevent the application from detecting or creating the correct fluid domain.

Remedy

Use the Geometry ribbon to check for rounded features near inlets and outlets and flatten them out. After adjusting the geometry, re-create the fluid domain.

  1. On the Geometry ribbon, select the Simplify tool.

    Use the Round tool under the Simplify tool group to to remove rounded features near inlets and outlets. You can also check for gaps in the model, and use Plug to seal them.
  2. Refer to the Simplify tool instructions to make adjustments to your model.
  3. Select Create Fluid Domain to create a new fluid domain.

    The new fluid domain is created.
