Face
Configure the thermal boundary conditions for the Fluids simulation.
Temperature
Define the temperature of a selected surface to change the temperature of the fluid when it encounters that surface.
Convection
Define the heat transfer coefficient and ambient temperature of a selected surface to change the temperature of the fluid when it encounters that surface.
- Select one or more surfaces where you would like to specify a convective heat flux.
- In the microdialog, enter the HTC (heat transfer coefficient) between the solid surface and ambient fluid.
- Enter the Ambient Temperature of the fluid adjacent to the solid surface.
Heat Flux
Add a flow of energy per unit of area per unit of time to a selected surface to change the fluid's temperature when it encounters that surface.
- Select one or more surfaces where you would like to add the heat flux.
- In the microdialog, enter the Heat Flux.
Adiabatic
Define a thermally insulated surface.
- Select the surface where you want to add the adiabatic thermal condition.
- Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
Slip wall
Enable the Slip Wall condition to allow the fluid to slip along the surface.
- Select the fluid faces or surfaces where you would like to add the slip wall condition.
- In the microdialog, enable Slip Wall.
Ambient Temperature
Ambient thermal conditions are applied to all exterior facing solid faces participating in the simulation. Ambient temperature is the temperature of the air surrounding solid surfaces in the model.
Ambient Heat Transfer Coefficient
Ambient thermal conditions are applied to all exterior facing solid faces participating in the simulation. The Ambient Heat Transfer Coefficient value determines the amount of heat transfer between solids and the surrounding air.
