HW_CONFIG_PATH
Specifies the path to search for certain configuration files.
Syntax
HW_CONFIG_PATH directory1;directory2;etc...
Description
Specifies the path to search for certain configuration files. These configuration files can be stored in a global or central location for convenience or in order to keep the default installed copy unedited. In addition, this prevents them from being overwritten when a new version or update is installed.
On a PC, when the application starts, it first reads the preference/config file in the installation directory, and then it reads the preference/config environment variable (HW_CONFIG_PATH). It also reads the hmcustom.tcl from the USER HOME (C:\Users\<USERNAME>). On Unix, the program first reads the preference/config file in the user’s home directory, then the current working directory. Finally, on both PC and Unix, the program looks for the user-defined preference/config file.
