Points
Use the Points tool to create and edit individual points, points on a vector, points along a curve, points at the center of a circle, and parametric points.
A Point is a spatial entity defined in a Global Cartesian space. Other entities that need a location or orientation can also refer to a point entity.
A Point entity can be defined as a single or pair. The Pair entities help in creating models which are symmetric about the Z-X Plane of the model. Their properties can also be symmetric about the Z-X Plane (in other words, the Y property is mirrored).
Create Points using the Points Tool Set
Use the Points tool set in the Geometry ribbon to create points using the methods described below:
Create Points through Graphical Interaction
Add a point to the model with the Points tool.
Create Points on a Vector
Use the Create Points on a Vector tool to create a set of points along a vector.
Create Points Along a Curve
Use this option to create a set of points equally spaced along a curve.
Create Points at At Arc Center
Use this option to create points at the center of an arc.
Create Parametric Points
Use the Parametric Points dialog to create a set of points with respect to a reference marker either in Cartesian coordinates or cylindrical coordinates.
Edit Points
Change the coordinates of a point.

Point Pair Properties
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Each side of the point pair (Left and Right) have properties as listed in the above table. The following are the additional properties for a point pair: | |
| Symmetry | Indicates the side that is the leader. Available choices are:
|
- A point is used in other entities such as joints, bushings, spring dampers, user defined cg for body, and so on to position or orient the entity.
- A symmetric point pair is symmetric about the Global Z – X plane.
- The point does not have an equivalent representation in MotionSolve xml.
