Create facets out of a scanned data set or node cloud data.
This utility is ideal for denser node clouds or scanned data. It is not suitable for
planar node data. In those cases, you can construct surfaces directly using the
geometry tools.
-
From the 2D ribbon, click the arrow next to the Surface
Mesh tool set name and select Facets from Nodes from the
list of options.
The Create Facets from Nodes tool
opens.
-
In the Input field, click the Nodes selector.
-
Select nodes.
Tip: You can use the Temp Nodes Panel to create nodes as
well.
-
Type an Average distance between nodes in the text box.
Note: You can increase the distance between nodes if proper facets are not
created.
- Optional:
Place a check in the Auto hole filling checkbox to enable Maximum hole fill
width.
- Optional:
Type a value into the Maximum hole fill width field to close any remaining
holes after constructing facets.
-
Click Create to generate facets.
