MotionView Panels/Tools
Explore the various panels and tools in MotionView.
The MotionView tool buttons are displayed on the various ribbons when a model is loaded in the active window.
A summary of each model tool is presented below and a description of each panel follows:
Panel/Tool | Description |
---|---|
Run | Submits a solver run. |
System (see Create and Edit Systems) | Allows you to create and save systems, to modify system attachments, and to set system options and initial conditions. |
Assembly (see Create and Edit Assemblies) | Allows you to create and save assemblies, to modify assembly attachments, and to set system options and initial conditions. |
Analysis (see Create and Edit Analyses) | Allows you to create and save an analysis, to modify analysis attachments, and to set analysis options and initial conditions. |
Command Sets | Allows you to create command sets for the solver-command file. The command sets for a model are order dependent since they define the contents of the solver command file. |
Points | Allows you to create points and to edit point coordinates. |
Bodies | Allows you to edit the mass properties, orientation rules, and initial conditions for bodies. |
Vectors | Allows you to create vectors and to edit vector components. |
Markers | Allows you to create markers and to edit location and orientation rules for markers. |
Spline2D/Curves | Allows you to create and edit curves. Curves hold x-y data for nonlinear properties. This panel has similar options as the Define Curves panel in HyperGraph. |
Spline3D | Allows you to add and edit three dimensional spline data. |
Graphics | Allows you to change the graphical attributes of entities in your model. Graphical attributes include color, state, and rendering method. |
Surfaces | Allows you to create surfaces for use with advanced joint entities. |
Deformable Curves | Allows you to create and edit deformable curves. These curves can change their shape during the simulation and can be used with advanced joints and contacts. |
Deformable Surfaces | Allows you to create and edit deformable surfaces. These entities can change shape during the simulation and can be used with advanced joints and contacts. |
Joints | Allows you to edit properties, connectivity, orientation rules, and initial conditions for joints. |
Motions | Allows you to create motions and to edit the initial conditions, displacements, velocities, and acceleration of joints. |
Couplers | Allows you to edit joint couplers. |
Gears | Allows you to create a gear entity to relate the motion of two joints. |
Advanced Joints | Allows you to create a set of joints where points, curves and surfaces stay in contact throughout the simulation. |
General Constraints | Allows you to create a generic expression based constraint. |
Forces | Allows you to create forces and to edit the orientation and properties of forces. |
Modal Forces | Allows you to create modal forces and to edit the orientation and properties of forces |
Bushings | Allows you to edit the orientation, connectivity, stiffness, damping, and preloads of bushings. |
Fields | Allows you to create and edit fields to relate forces between two bodies. |
Spring Dampers | Allows you to edit the connectivity, properties, and initial conditions of springs and dampers. |
Beams | Allows you to edit the connectivity, properties, and orientations of beams. |
Polybeams | Allows you to edit the connectivity, properties, and points of a polybeam. |
Contacts | Allows you to set contact data. |
Solver Variables | Allows you to set solver variable data |
Solver Arrays | Allows you to set solver array data. |
Solver Strings | Allows you to set solver string data. |
Solver Differential Equations | Allows you to set solver differential equations |
Control SISOs | Allows you to set control entity data. |
Sensors | Allows you to create and edit a sensor entity to modify the solver behavior during simulation. |
Control State Equations | Allows you to set control state equations. |
Functional Mockup Unit (FMU) | Allows you to add a Functional Mock-up Unit and connect it to a multibody model. |
Outputs | Allows you to create and edit output and requests such as displacement, velocity, acceleration, and force. |
Datasets | Allows you to access user-defined datasets. |
Templates | Allows you to insert segments of text into your model. |
Forms | Allows you to edit data stored in user-defined panels. |
