Change Element Order

Change a group of elements from second order elements to first order elements, or vice versa.

1. From the Topology ribbon, click the arrow next to the Edit tool set name and select Change Element Order from the drop-down menu.
2. On the guide bar, use the first drop-down menu to change to first or second order.
3. Select the elements to change.
   Your selection is filtered. To change to 1st order, only existing 2nd order elements are retained as there the only ones valid for this operation, and vice versa.
4. Click on the guide bar and choose whether to place the mid-side nodes at the midpoint of the element edge or projected to surfaces associated with the elements.
5. On the guide bar, click one of the following:
   • - Apply and stay in the tool
   • - Apply and close the tool
