Configure the Model Browser
Change the columns and entity types that display in the Model Browser and change browser options.
This dialog opens when you select the Configure Browser option from the Model Browser’s context menu.
Entities Tab
To select entity types to display in the Model View, activate the checkboxes next to each desired entity type. A check mark indicates that the entity type will display in the browser. You can also use the select all, select none, and select reverse buttons in this mode.
Options Tab
To control various behaviors within the Model Browser, use the
following Global and Local options.
- Global Options

- Autofit graphics
- Automatically size graphics to fit inside the display window when performing Show/Hide/Isolate from graphics or a browser.
- Autoscroll browser
- Automatically scrolls the browser to the selection when an entity is selected graphically.
- Autosort
- Automatically sorts the entities in the current applied sorting (Name, ID, and so on) upon creating and editing entities.
- Live filtering
- Enables live filtering of entities on data modification with a filter applied.
- Tree lines
- Displays line connections between folders and entities in the hierarchy tree.
- Show nested entities on filtering
- Facilitates the listing of nested entities when a top-level entity is filtered. For example, when an Include file is found as the result of a filter, all of its nested content is shown.
- Delete Component's unique references
- Open the Delete component(s) and unique associations dialog when Delete Advanced is selected from the context menu. When this box is checked off, the Delete component(s) and unique associations dialog does not open when Delete Advanced is selected from the context menu, and the entities uniquely related to the selected component are automatically deleted. Only available for components in the LS-DYNA user profile.
- Hide attached elements
- Mask the attached elements from the graphics area when you perform the Hide functionality on the following entities: loads, load collectors, load steps, groups and contact surfaces. This could be observed if the elements are currently displayed. This will not alter the display state to off, that is local display icon will not be Dimmed.
- Show/Hide/Isolate entities referenced to Include file
- Show, hide, isolate the contents of the Include files when you Show/Hide/Isolate the Include file. If you turn this option off, Show/Hide/Isolate will only affect the components and other HM entities that have graphics (vectors, systems, plies, laminates, loads) in the Include file of the Model, Solver, and ID Manger browsers.
- Show/Isolate attached elements
- Bring the attached elements to the graphics area when you perform the Show/Isolate/ functionality on the following entities: loads, load collectors, load steps, groups and contact surfaces. This could be observed if the elements are currently masked or the elements belonging to the component's display state is off. This will also turn the local display icon to Bold if the component is currently with the display state off.
- Local Options

- Show entities under subfolders
- Shows the entities under subfolders in the Model Browser.
- Nodes/Elements/Loads threshold
- Limit to the number of items that shown in each folder for the Model Browser and entity views.
